43. Healing After an Abusive Relationship with Emmy Marie | Domestic Violence Awareness Month

We’re officially wrapping up our Domestic Violence Awareness Month series. In the final episode, Jazzy is joined by Emmy Marie @bloomingwithemmy to discuss healing after leaving an abusive relationship.

Emmy Marie is a certified trauma-informed somatic coach and NARM practitioner who specializes in helping clients create thriving lives and relationships after trauma. As an abuse survivor herself, Emmy understands the devastation trauma can have on our lives, and is committed to helping as many people as possible access their power and heal from trauma.

Emmy supports clients in her 1:1 coaching program, as well as through courses, a monthly membership community, and speaking engagements. She is based in Oregon, USA, but sees clients virtually all over the world!

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • What trauma is, and some common signs of trauma that you may not realize you’re experiencing
  • Some common misconceptions or expectations about what healing is “supposed” to look like
  • Coping mechanisms people use to deal with trauma
  • The difference between red flags and triggers
  • What it means to “break the cycle” of trauma
  • How friends and family best support survivors of abuse and trauma without re-traumatizing them or making them feel judged
  • Tips for regaining your sense of self-worth
  • How to know when you’ve healed enough to start dating again
  • Tips to avoid self-sabotaging your next healthy relationship

… and so much more. Enjoy!
